Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

AKWESASNE – Ms. E. Laura Connors, 86, passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2015 at Tsiionkwanonhso:te – Cornwall Island Long Term Care Facility, where she had been a resident for the past four years.

Laura was born July 23, 1928 in Akwesasne, the daughter of the late Angus and Eva Benedict Connors. She enjoyed knitting and embroidery, having made scarves and pot holders throughout the years. Laura loved the holidays and enjoyed dressing up for the occasion. She was a communicant of the St. Regis Catholic Church.

She is survived by three aunts, Elda Cook of Akwesasne; Agnes Trail of Glendora, CA; and Florence Benedict of Akwesasne; and an uncle, Harry Olan of Brentwood, NY.

Friends may call Thursday 2-4 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in the Cornwall Island Methodist Cemetery in the spring.
