Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

They were declared the "Fastest Turkeys" for the 2014 Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot was started a few years ago to build a culture of family in the St. Regis Mohawk Elementary School and to increase physical activity. It has become a tradition each year; on the day before Thanksgiving, everyone runs around the school to see who is the fastest turkey. Each class participates, as well as the office staff, custodians, cafeteria workers, teachers, and even the principal! Each class started at the assigned spot and followed the posted route around the school and playground. Teachers then recorded their class time on the charts posted in the Turtle Area to see which group completed the trot in the fastest time. Submitted by Molly Ladouceur.
