A Farewell Dinner

Submitted by Gere Jacobs

On October 17th, 2014, a farewell delicious lasagna dinner party was held for Shaylon Katsitenhawe (carrying the flowers) Jacco at her mother, Corleen Jacco's home with family and friends. Shaylon left October 21st, to board a 13 1/2 hour flight to Beijing.

It was a fun night as everyone interestedly wore a variety of prevalent fashions of costumes of their choosing; appropriate for the occasion-Halloween! "Shay Shay" as the family calls her, wanted this to happen, for she would not be around on that date.

As a Culture Ambassador, Shay Shay was matched with a Chinese family for 12 months in Beijing. Also Peking, formally Peiping, the capital of China in the N.E. part. HHS Center in Beijing is sponsoring her and paid the airline ticket. A friend Tori Andre of Cornwall, gave her information about travelling to China. Tori Andre has been in Beijing for six months already. They will chum around sightseeing once Shay Shay arrives there.

Shay Shay will be paid monthly to articulate the English language to a two-year-old Chinese child, whom she'll be spending considerable time teaching her. Also Shay will be taking free Chinese language lessons herself twice a week. Maybe she can throw in some Kanienkeha words too. Smile! If Shay decides to extend her time in Beijing, she will know more by the end of her year there.

Shaylon declared she needed to take time out from college to pursue an interest in travelling around the world. She's already accomplished an Africa trip with her older sister Haylee Wenhniseriiosha (she makes the day beautiful) Jacco in 2013.

Shaylon Katsitenhawe Jacco's family and friends are very proud of her endeavors and the courage it takes for Shaylon's purposeful goals, specifically, to seek employment in another country.
