Status: Per Diem

Reports to: General Manager

Salary: $11/ per hour (Canadian)

The Receptionist/Office Clerk is under the direct supervision and direction of the General Manager. This is a full-time position and is required to work during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and other hours as deemed necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As the first point of contact the receptionist must greet all visitors to CKON in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.

Answer incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner and direct calls or messages to the appropriate individual. Maintain a log of all incoming calls.

Take radio requests and birthday dedications for announcers.

Coordinate lunch counter submissions for airing. Accept payments for the lunch counter submissions.

Prepare in memoriam for Radio Announcers.

Do printouts of the Morning Horoscopes.

Coordinate the Birthday Club prizes and maintain a log for prizes.

Monitor CKON email addresses and fax machine for community calendar information and prepare the community calendar for the radio announcers.

Maintain a log of incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and faxes.

Prepare the Auto Shop and Trading Post for broadcast.

Prepare job watch submissions, via email, postal or walk-in, for broadcasting on the air. Prepare Job Watch billing for the Finance office.

Sell Bingo cards and distribute bingo winnings during normal business hours.

Issue Bingo Card Certificates and maintain log of donated certificates and purchased ones.

Participate in the Tuesday night bingo run for one of the distribution areas.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications: Must have excellent time management skills, have a pleasing personality and possess the ability to work under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment. Must present a professional image. Comprehensive computer skills are a priority to effectively and efficiently meet the job requirements of this position. Mohawk language an asset. Applicant must have a Canadian Social Insurance Number.
