ATTENTION NATIVE AMERICAN ARTISTS

USDA Poster Contest for American Indian Heritage Month

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is inviting American Indian artists in New York and surrounding states to submit original paintings to help commemorate American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month in 2014. One painting will be selected for a nationally-distributed poster.

The theme for the 2014 American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month poster is “Our Land - Our Promise to the Next Seven Generations.” Paintings must be submitted to the NRCS East Aurora, NY field by September 5th. Artists are asked to submit either oil or acrylic paintings on an 18 inch by 24 inch canvas. Artists are also asked to submit a written narrative with their painting. The selected artist will be paid $2,000 by NRCS for the painting and the rights to use the art for the 2014 poster.
