Employment Status: Contract
Reports To: General Manager
Fee: $100 per sports event
Under the supervision and direction of the General Manager. This position is on a contract basis and hours are dependent on the sports events calendars. Coverage includes lacrosse and hockey games but may be expanded to other sports.
DUTIES:
Perform live broadcast of sports events.
Operate live remote equipment in an effective and efficient manner.
Research athletes playing in the event and know all their names and numbers and statistics.
Deliver commentary and play-by-play analysis.
Converse with co-announcer while delivering pertinent information about the game as needed.
Interview candidates for color commentator position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high level of comfort with audio equipment.
Must be very current with sports events and figures within that sport.
Must be able to deliver commentary and play analysis; therefore, individual must have a high level of knowledge for the sport.
Must be able to determine what the audience would find interesting and perform a fact check on information before sharing the info.
Must have good communication skills both written and oral with conversational abilities.
Must be able to project professionalism when delivering commentary.
Must have excellent time management skills.
