Salary Level: GST 13 $32,964.28 – $34,282.85
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the Food Service Supervisor and the day to day supervision of the Cook, the incumbent is responsible to assist the Cook with meal preparation and meal service for residents and community meal services. The incumbent maintains a high standard of quality in the preparation of meals, sanitation and hospitality services. The kitchen aide is a team player and promotes the program and services of the Dietary Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of relevant work experience in the food service industry preferably in an institutional setting.
Incumbent must possess a current Standard First Aid with CPR, Level C certificate. Incumbent must have and maintain certification for WHMIS, HACCP, and Food Safety/Food Handling. Incumbent must have knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling.
