CARPENTER/CARETAKER THOMPSON ISLAND YOUTH CAMP

FULL TIME TERM POSITION (October 1, 2014) TEHOTIIENNAWA:KON

Annual Salary: Pay Level GST 08 - $41,205.35 - $42,853.56

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Thompson Island Youth Camp Coordinator(s), with indirect supervision by the Program Manager for Environment, the incumbent is responsible for performing and assisting in the general duties pertaining to janitorial, custodial cleaning and the daily operation, maintenance and upkeep of assigned assets and facilities maintained by the Department of Tehotiiennawa:kon, Environment Program in conjunction with the youth camp standards under the care and control of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification in General Carpentry with a minimum of two years of work experience in related trade work, building system maintenance, building systems with equivalent knowledge and or experience with skilled trades and disciplines in a variety of trade fields to include but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and construction, OR

High School graduate or equivalent and with a minimum of 15 years experience in general carpentry and building maintenance procedures, Certification or ability to be certified within a specific timeframe for WHMIS, MSDS, operation of assets and building infrastructure and other training as requested by job requirements;

Valid driver’s license and Pleasure Craft Safety Operator License with driving experience (must be able to safely operate boat, embark and disembark from dock without damage to boat and contents. Must ensure the safety of all passengers.
