ALAN J. COOK

 

AKWESASNE – Mr. Alan J. Cook, age 52, of 19 Mohawk Lane, passed away at his home on Saturday afternoon, January 4, 2014 after a period of failing health.

Alan was born March 23, 1961 in Cornwall, Ontario, the son of the late Leona Cook.  He attended schools in Syracuse.  As a young boy, he was a paperboy and later worked for Consolidated Industries and as a janitorial worker in Syracuse.  Alan enjoyed fishing, watching television, reading books and had a fascination with aliens.

He is survived by his five sons, Alan Jr. of Syracuse; Wesley of Rooseveltown; Byron of Syracuse; Darrin and Levi, both of Akwesasne; and his granddaughter, Brianna.  He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Sunday and her husband, Jimmy of Snye; Alvena Delormier of Snye; Karen Benedict and her husband, Larry of Cornwall Island; and Tammy Cook-Harrington and her companion, Kim Atkinson of Akwesasne; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends called on Tuesday, Jan. 7th at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where a closing prayer was offered.  Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Massena Dialysis Center.
