ELECTRICIAN

3 YEARS - FULL TIME TERM POSITION W/ POSSIBILITY OF PERMANENCY DEPT. OF TECHNICAL SERVICES

Pay Level GST 05 - $46,149.78 - $47,995.77

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Senior Maintenance Manager with coordination through and with indirect Supervision by the Maintenance Manager for the assigned sector, the incumbent is responsible for performing the general duties pertaining to the certified trade work of a Construction and Maintenance Electrician or equivalent. The Electrician will perform hands on physical application of electrical equipment installation, maintenance and repair and upkeep of electrical infrastructure for assigned assets and facilities maintained by the Department of Technical Services (DTS) Maintenance Program in conjunction with the Maintenance Managers for each sector as through implementation of the Maintenance Management System (MMS) Program for the asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have valid Certificate/ License of Competency for Electrician and be certified under the Province of Ontario/ 309A Construction Maintenance Electrician or equivalent, and or Province of Quebec Certification under the Commission de le Construction Quebec Electrician as equivalent; Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in electrical service, repair and installation of electrical trade work;

Must be familiar with Institutional Building / Office setting / System Electrical Maintenance requirements; Certification or ability to be certified within a specific timeframe for WHMIS, MSDS, Fall Protection, Scaffold Installation and other training as requested by job requirements;

Valid driver’s license and willing to use personal vehicle during course of employment.
