1 PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION

Annual Salary: Salary Level; OSPE $106,187.27 - $107,303.77

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the Supervision of the Director, the incumbent oversees the day-to-day implementation of all capital projects, major maintenance projects of existing assets and generally is involved in all technical aspects within the organization, including the financial and contractual obligations. Provide Project Management/Construction Management Services on Community infrastructure type projects. Have good working relationships beyond the scope of contractual services such as vendors, service providers and other project consulting agencies. Ensure that the best interests of MCA and the Community and all project deadlines and schedules are being met. This position is a requirement of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada and must be held by a Professional in good standing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post Secondary Education with graduation and certification in engineering/architecture; must be registered as a professional engineer within the province of Ontario and/or Quebec. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in engineering or architecture related service on various community building and infrastructure type projects including a minimum five (5) years experience in construction management. Experience in system maintenance, building infrastructure maintenance. Experience with skilled trade fields such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, heating ventilation and air conditioning that would enable the incumbent to perform the required duties.

Knowledge in federal, provincial and municipal legislation such as Water and Wastewater Regulations, OSHA, the Federal Health and Safety Standards, the Canadian Labour Code, Building Codes, Fire Protection Codes, Plumbing Codes, Electrical Codes, Road Design Codes, Project Management, Construction Safety Codes, and Environmental legislation as well as local Akwesasne Bylaws. Must adhere to all safety standards and regulations i.e.: WHMIS.

Must have exceptional analytical, technical and scientific reasoning skills, and be able to effectively relay, express or apply such methods. Proven budgeting, organizational, planning, project management and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be familiar with or preferably proficient in the following Computer Programs: MS Office Suite, Scada, Water-cad or equivalent and Auto-cad and/or other computer relevant computer programs used in the engineering field. Must have valid Driver’s License, and be willing to use personal vehicle during the course of employment.
