PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION

 


Annual Salary: DS 10 $39,827.00-$43,077.00

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager and as a member of the management team, the incumbent is responsible for the organization and leadership of the recreation and leisure department to meet the needs and expectations of residents and community participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-Secondary Diploma in the areas of Recreation and Leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field of study from a recognized community college or university and courses in gerontology preferred. Three (3) to Five (5) years relevant experience caring for the elderly in a long-term care facility.  

Must hold a valid Ontario or Quebec Class F driver’s license or be willing to obtain the same at own expense within six (6) months of hire as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours including some weekends, evenings or holidays. Proficiency in computer skills. Must be mature, reliable and able to exercise tact and good judgment.  The successful candidate must comply with MCA Department of Health Communicable Disease Policy.  Must be willing to use own personal vehicle in course of employment. Ability to speak or understand the Mohawk language is considered an asset.
