On April 26th, 2013, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service executed 2 Search Warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at two properties on Cornwall Island.

Over $1 million of marihuana was seized as a result of an ongoing investigation, which uncovered a sophisticated plantation.

Augustine Jennifer Skidders, 32 years of age, of Cornwall Island, Ontario was charged with the following: “Theft of Electricity”, “Possession over $5000.00”, “Possession of a Substance”, “Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking” and “Production of a Substance.”

Peter James Magoon, 32 years of age, of Cornwall Island, Ontario was charged with the following: “Theft of Electricity”, “Possession over $5000.00”, “Possession of a Substance”, “Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking” and “Production of a Substance.”

Seized during the Search Warrant was an undisclosed amount of both Canadian and American currency, a 2013 Toyota Tundra, and a 2010 Toyota Sequoia.

Augustine Jennifer Skidders was released on a “Promise to Appear” on April 26th, with a first appearance at Cornwall Provincial Court on May 28th, 2013.On April 29th, 2013, Peter James Magoon appeared in Cornwall Bail Court. Matter was adjourned to May 2nd, and then again to May 9th, 2013.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.
