Franklin County Association of Senior Citizens Christmas Party

Submitted by Carole Ann Milljour

Dashing into the Holidays was the theme for this year’s Annual Christmas Party presented by the Association of Senior Citizens in Franklin County and sponsored by the Office of the Aging. This Gala Event was held at the Malone Golf Club on November 30, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Music was provided by Franklin County Legislator, Suzanne Robideau, who started off this festive event with a round of Christmas Carols.

There were 183 seniors in attendance from all over Franklin County, making this year’s party the largest Christmas Event ever held by the Association.

Susan Schrader, Director of the Association, greeted the crowd, thanking them for their support in the reorganization of the Association. The Christmas Party was a great kickoff to the holiday season, bringing many of the Franklin County Seniors together to celebrate. The day was perfect, the meal fantastic and the attendance at an all-time record high. Susan Wilson Scott, Director of the Office for the Aging said, “Who could ask for more?”

Pat Manchester, President of the Association of Senior Citizens, presented Sandra Swanger, St. Regis Falls Board Member, with a plaque honoring Howard Goodrow for his Lifetime Membership with the Association of Senior Citizens. Judy Gardner was also honored and presented with a dish garden for her many years of dedicated service.

A 50/50 raffle and Chinese Auction were held. The lovely gifts and gift card prizes for this auction were donated by the Adult Center Directors and Community Members.
