TREE/BRUSH TRIM AND REMOVAL PROJECT-2012/2013

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is very concerned with trees that have been damaged through storms and may cause injury and property loss if these trees are not removed or trimmed.

Therefore:

The Environment Program for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne has determined that a number of trees must be trimmed or removed and the priority will be given to those trees that may cause harm or damage if they are not dealt with in a timely manner. To ensure the safety and health of community members and people who travel throughout the districts, dead and dying trees that pose a danger to people, homes, roads and personal property, will be removed by trained tree cutters. Priority will be given to those trees that are the greatest threat first.

If you have trees that require trimming or removal, please contact Elizabeth Nanticoke or Margaret George. Margaret will go to your home to assess the tree, to determine if it should be removed or trimmed. At that time, she can determine what level of priority it should be placed.

You may dial 613 575 2250 and ask for Elizabeth at Extension 1039 or Margaret at Extension 1043.
