Annual Salary: Pay Band 4 $31,579.03 - $38,878.46
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Care, the job duties of a Restorative Care Aide are to maintain and/or improve the Residents functional ability. The goal of the restorative care program is to assist residents in promoting, maintaining or restoring mobility and independence within their limits and abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent with a completion of a College Level Therapy Assistant Program or Diploma in Recreation Studies (i.e., dementia certification or gerontology) and a minimum of two years experience in working with the elderly in a long term care setting. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
The incumbent must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays in accordance with the scheduling needs of the facility. May be required to travel to attend workshops and training. Occupational Health and Safety training considered an asset. Mohawk language considered an asset.
