DIRECTOR DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL SERVICE PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION

 


Annual Salary: Pay Band 11 - $72,254.00-$88,955.42

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director is responsible for the overall daily operations of the Department of Community and Social Services and the independent programs that fall within; and will guide, direct and monitor a comprehensive community and culturally based department that is specific to the management and administration of Akwesasne Child & Family Services, Iethinistenha / Family Wellness Program, Ionkwanonsasetsi / Adolescent Treatment Center, Community Support Program, Akwesasne Child Care Program. As a member of the senior management team, the Director participates in strategic planning and budgeting initiatives and works within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree in Social Work or related field, with 5-8 years management experience in Social field including supervision, administration, staff, program delivery, financial and human resource allocations.

The incumbent will liaise with government officials; participate in Social Committees affecting First Nations Governments; should have excellent computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word programs, i.e. Excel along with spread sheets, data base software and must be willing to learn new software. Knowledge of local, networking with neighboring, regional and national social system partners is an asset. Speaking and understanding the Mohawk language is an asset. Must posses a valid driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle in course of employment.
