High School Students Art Work Featured in Exhibit

 

Seana Gambill is a 6th grader at Salmon River Central School. Seana’s work is watercolor and dyed glue on paper titled “Pebbles”.

The Eleventh Annual Robideau/Lamitie-King Juried Art Exhibit was held at forArtSake in Malone from May 1st-17th. The exhibit featured art work from middle and high school students from six area schools. It is sponsored by Foothills ARTSociety and forArtSake every year in memory of well-known local photographer Norbert Robideau. Awards for the juried exhibit are donated by the Robideau family and participating schools’ teacher’s unions.

Taylor Francis was awarded the Juror Choice Drawing Award for High School. Her work is Scratch Art and is  titled “Who?”. Taylor is a sophomore at Salmon River and is the daughter of Perry and Karen Francis.

There was a variety of work on display from about 100 students represented. Art teachers from each school chose projects that represented the talent of their students during the school year. Categories for the exhibit are Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Mixed Media. Art work is juried separately at The Middle and High School levels.

Participants from the classes of Jeni Backus and Tammy Tarbell at Salmon River Central School were: Destiny Thomas, Kainekwinehtha Ransom, Jerrad John, Taylor Francis, Tekaronhiakwas McDonald, Seana Gambill, Riane Richichi, Daphne King, Ali Hart, Karley Cree, Emerald Rain Jock, Myranda Carr, and Tobi-Lee Roundpoint.
