Chocolate, at home spa treatments, candles, flameless candles, sports memorabilia; these are just a few of the types of businesses that showed up at the Snye Homemakers Shopping Fair over the weekend, showcasing their wares to the community during the holiday season. Around twenty vendors participated in the second shopping showcase hosted by the Homemakers group this holiday season.

The idea of providing an opportunity for the different consultants, small businesses and craftspeople to showcase their products was thought up by a few of the Homemakers members. This was also a chance to hold a benefit for the group, with each of the vendors paying a registration fee, which would go to the maintenance and overhead cost of the building.

In addition to paying a fee for a table, each vendor also contributed one item to a gift basket that was being raffled off at the end of the event. All vendors who attended the event had the chance to network with the other consultants, advertise their business to the community, and look for new employees and partners for their ever-growing businesses.

This event was advertised mainly by word of mouth references, the Homemakers facebook event page, and buzz that had been generated from the first one-day shopping event held on Nov. 13. The talk around the vendors as they packed up at the end of the day was that there might be another event held in February, but we’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are true.
