The Ronathahon:ni Cultural Centre’s Annual Friendship Day was a great success! We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who was a part of it. Niawen to our vendors, Tracy Thompson, Natasha Smoke-Santiago, Veronica Cook, Soaring Eagles, AEDA, Akwesasne Wolves, Inspiration Cafe, and the Akwesasne Women Singers. Niawen to our entertainers, Steven Oakes & Nate Seymour, John & Kahentahawe Francis, Corey Mitchell, The Hotinonshonni Cultural Group, Aboriginal Experience, Bear Nation and Jody Marsolais of the Rhythm Room. Niawen to the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department for providing a safety patrol for our canoe race, and to Harvey Thompson of Sit-N-Bull for the canoes. Niawen to Mike Mitchell, Loran Thompson, and Brian David for supplying ferry passage. Niawen to Ross Kakwirakeron Montour for bringing his beautiful artwork for us to display in our new exhibition hall. Niawen to Mohawk Council of Akwesasne for the loan of the Akwesasne Wolf Belt replica made by Julius Cook, to Frank Leaf for building our new display case, and to Robert Pyke for delivering it. Niawen to CKON and Indian Time for helping us get the word out and to everyone else who helped out in whatever way. Finally, we thank the people of Akwesasne and the surrounding communities for coming out to enjoy the activities in spite of the rain that came and went throughout the day.
