Fort Covington man charged with firing rifle

 


St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Justin Cooke with several offenses Friday after he allegedly fired a rifle near McDonald Road in Akwesasne.

Police said Cooke fired the rifle from a vehicle but did not say what the man’s intentions were. He was charged with reckless endangerment (two counts), endangering the welfare of a child (two counts), menacing (four counts), and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Cooke is being held in Franklin County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
