“Buster “ Mitchell Memorial Award, SRMS

On June 18th at the St. Regis Mohawk School the annual award in memory of a former principal and physical educator was presented.  Mr. Mitchell’s name has been carried on as students who display the highest of character, academics and skill in the area of physical education, are presented with a plague and monetary award of $50.00.

This year, the announcement took place at the graduation ceremony and named two students who were well deserving of this honor.  Mr. Chad Phippen, teacher for Phys. Ed, called the names of Marli Kawisahos Conners and Turner Tahakie Thomas. It has never happened to have two students win this award but this year they were so close in every aspect of the award that it only seemed right to award both.  Congratulations to both and continue to do well in your future years in school.
