Vincent Allan Cook

Vincent Allan Cook known to many as George passed away unexpectedly on Sunday  June 27th at the Champlain Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. He was born on July 25, 1955 to Mamie Tarbell and Vernon (Tony) Cook.

He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Dorothy Moore, Massena; 2 sons,  Nico Allen and William Anthony George and their mother, Lisa Benedict of Massena and a daughter, Cassandra Turner of Arizona, a step-mother, Pauline Cook, Akwesasne, 11 sisters, Shirley Billion (Dan), Margaret Degonzac (John), Nora Tarbell all of California, Dorothy Vickery (Chuck) Fulton, NY, Verna Hobson (John) Syracuse, Roxene Jones (Belson), Vanessa Cook, Maggie Chaussi (Dennis), Toni Cook & Anastasia Benedict (Mike) of Akwesasne; 2 brothers, Alvin Cook & Richard Cook (Louise) of Akwesasne and many nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his mother, Mamie Tarbell of Akwesasne and his father, Vernon N. (Tony) Cook of the Onondaga Nation, by 6 brothers; Clyde Cook, Francis Joseph Cook, William Tarbell & Gary LaFrance of Syracuse and Dennis Tarbell of Watertown, 1 sister, Lori Sue Cook of the Onondaga Nation and a daughter Sara Cook at infancy.

he served in the U.S. navy and was a member of the American Legion in Massena. He worked as an electrician and was self employed.

Memorial services will be held at the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews Street, Massena, N.Y. on Wednesday, June 30th at 2 p.m. with the Reverend George H.Belgarde, SJ, officiating.
