A Voice from the Eastern Door
Happy Father’s Day poems
In loving memory of Douglas Thompson on Father’s day
You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knew why A million times your girls have needed you,
A million times we’ve cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In Life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill it broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone
For each part of our hearts went with you,
The day God took you home.
So on this father’s day your daughter’s think of you still.
As our bubba you were always loving and kind. And often you knew what we had on our minds. You were always the one who listened, suggested and defended.
As our bubba you were one of our very best friends. You were always proud of our
triumphs, but when things went wrong,
You were always the one that would be patient and helpful and strong.
In all that you did, a dad’s love plays a part. There will always be a place for you, our
Bubba, Douglas Thompson deep within our hearts. And with each year that passes, your
daughters are even more glad, more grateful and proud, just to have been able to call you
OUR BUBBA!
So on this day, we thank you Bubba for listening and caring, for giving and sharing, but most importantly, just for having the honour of calling you our Bubba. Happy Father’s day to our Bubba Douglas Thompson who has been gone since June 8, 2009 but will always be
remembered and missed each and every day.
Love all of your girls, Janice, Marlene, Darlene, Renee, Peggy and Bonnie
In loving memory of our grandfather and great grandfather Douglas Thompson on Father’s
day
