She:kon and Greetings! Though the sound of the powerful powwow drum fades into the past, we would like to take this time to send our heartfelt gratitude to the community of Akwesasne and to the many individuals and organizations who helped make the 9th Annual Akwesasne International Powwow a huge success.  

Niawen:kowa to the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, St. Regis Mohawk Tribe and the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs for their support and help in making all of our guests feel welcome here in Akwesasne.

This year’s event drew crowds more of more than 5,000 spectators who witnessed over 250 dancers including adults and tiny tots, 6 drum groups and 7 hand drum groups... all competing for the chance to claim the title of “Champion at the Akwesasne Powwow.”
