Snye students experiment with science

 

Quinlyn Jacobs teaches grade 1 students Tayson Terrance and Bailey Johnson how to use a microscope properly.

On Thursday, April 9th, Tsi Snaihne School held a Science Day in the gymnasium.

Grade 7 & 8 students from Kana:takon School came to our school to lead students through some fun experiments.

 Students were put into groups and rotated through stations set up in the gym.  The Kana:takon students taught a mini-lesson and guided students in various activities. 

 Some scientific areas covered included:  Sorting by 1 or more Attributes;  Color Mixing;  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle;  Magnets;  Air Pressure;  Buoyancy (sink or float);  Using Microscopes;  Water Power;  Manipulating Gears; and Making Playdough.

 A special thank you goes out to the ten senior students from Kana:takon School for helping make Science Day a success. They were:
