We have to work for the generations to come and the generation here. It will take a co-operative effort. We must use reason and rationality to lead and stay firm in our beliefs." Chief Thompson went on to thank those who were his teachers and his strongest supporters – his family. He reminded everyone we have a lot of issues to face on the environment, economic development, education and land claims and we must work cooperatively to strengthen Akwesasne together. Arriving with one term of experience as a Sub Chief, Thompson graduated from the Albany Law School of Union University in 1999 and the Tulane/Albany International Law Program at McGill, Montreal.
