    Cass Phillips, Ross Terrance and their friend from Boston named Michelle are pictured with their medals that they received for running in the Montreal half marathon on Sunday, Sept. 25th. Cass and Ross were able to run the 13.2-mile course in approximately two and a half hours.     The modified football team for Massena is presently at two wins and one loss for the season. Their first game was against Potsdam and Massena came home with the win on a score of 34 - 28. Kyran Sunday, Nate Bressard and Brady Currier all had one touchdown as they ran it in. The second game for Massena was an away game with Malone at the middle school field.     The Cornwall Major Midget team is ready! Head coach Tom Wilson has selected his team for the upcoming season after the Major Midget went 2-1 in pre-season. The Colt won 2-1 vs NGS on Sept.18th, then lost 6-4 in Gananoque on Sept 24th and came back with a strong win by the score of 5-3 over Brockville on the 25th .     The Akwesasne Eagles participated in the Annual Malone Youth Football tournament last weekend. Several area Flag teams played as well as the grade 3/4 and grade 5/6 youth tackle football teams from Massena, Malone and St. Lawrence.     Sponsors and players at the 23rd Annual SUNY Potsdam Scholarship Golf Classic on Sept. 8 broke last year’s record for proceeds to the scholarship fund by raising $93,000. “It was a great day for everyone,” said Vicki Templeton-Cornell, vice president for College Advancement. “Golfers had a beautiful day to golf, sponsors and businesses had a great opportunity to meet and interact with our student scholars, and the students had a chance to thank the sponsors for their generosity.” Last year, the event raised $85,000, which was a part of almost...
