    The Cornwall District Soccer League defending Division Two Playoff Champions pulled off a big win last week during regular season play. At Optimist Park in Cornwall the Stars carried a 4-0 halftime lead into a 7-0 blanking of Stradwicks Flooring.     Submitted by Megan Conners After the Plattsburgh Air Rade lacrosse tournament in June, four players from the Akwesasne Attack 5/6 boys team were invited to play with the U13 Adirondack Selects. Cameron Conners was also asked to be their head coach. They were brought together with other chosen boys from Tri-Lakes, Plattsburgh, Potsdam and Brushton.     The Seaway Valley Venom, a Native-owned semi-pro football team that will play home games in Massena this year, includes an Akwesasne man among their roster. Randy Peters, who wears number 94, will play left tackle and defensive line. Their proprietor, Joe McDonald, also hails from the community. Both are graduates of Salmon River Central.     The Akwesasne Jr. B Indians beat the Markham Ironheads 6-2 on Friday to take the playoff series in a three game sweep. They now move on to take on the Oakville Buzz in a best out of five series. This weekend the first two games will be played at the Anowarako:wa Arena. Game 1 will be played on Saturday, July 9 with a 7:00pm start time and Game 2 will be played Sunday July10 at 2:00pm.     Submitted by Chuck Brown, 2016 GM/Coach She:kon Akwesasne (July 4, 2016) On Friday, July 1, your St. Regis Braves (6-0) traveled to Kahnawake for a lacrosse match against the revamped Kahnawake Mohawks (5-3) in a steamy contest that produced a totally one-sided affair. The Mohawks came out firing on all cylinders as they put on a powerful display of ball movement and disciplined lacrosse in crushing the undermanned Braves by a score of 17-2.
