    A lot of awards were given out last Friday at the Akwesasne Mohawk School. All grades were included in the assemblies, with 2 classes winning the Stanley Cup and a pizza party for having the highest averages. Certificates, charms and prizes were also given out for perfect attendance, reading, birthdays, winning broomball teams, character recognition for generosity and native art student awards.     On Tuesday May 13, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service in conjunction with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police held an event to celebrate Police Week. Police week is celebrated nationally in Canada and this year the theme was "Building Community Partnerships."     Class Olympics has become a wonderful, spirited tradition for the St. Regis Mohawk School students and is looked forward to each year by the pre-kindergarten through fifth grades.
