Title: Program Assistant (2)

FLSA: $10.00 per hour, Non-exempt, Part-time Permanent (1) & Part-time Temp/Summer (1)

Deadline: FRIDAY, May 22, 2015 at 4pm

Primary Function: Assists group leaders with planning, implementing, and supervision of activities provided for a specific group of children during a summer program between the hours of 8am - 4pm.

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED and have experience working with children. Must have basic skills for dealing with youth and at least one year of work experience.

Title: Summer Reading Teacher

FLSA: $18.00 per hour, Non-exempt, Part Time (24 hours) Temporary (7/2/15-8/14/15)

Deadline: May 22, 2015 at 4pm

Primary Function: Under the direction of the Steps to Success Summer Program Manager, the reading teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing an educational assistance reading program. The primary purpose of this position is to actively assist students with reducing summer learning loss and engage them in educational strategies that will benefit their academic success.


Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in education or a similar field of study and one (1) year working experience with children and/or adolescents in an educational setting. Ability to speak Mohawk, knowledge of Mohawk culture and tradition will be an asset.

Title: Steps to Success Summer Program Manager

FLSA: $880 Weekly, Exempt, Full Time Temporary (6/29/15-8/14/15)

Deadline: May 22, 2015 at 4pm

Primary Function: Manage overall daily operations of the Steps to Success Summer Program, with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of the staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in education or a similar field of study with a minimum of five years’ work experience in a youth serving organization. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise personnel. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated ability in working with young people and parents. Knowledge and understanding of Akwesasne community, values, traditions and social norms.
