On a perfectly sunny summer morning on Sunday August 6, 2023, Jerry Cook from Akwesasne made a hole in one. According to the Golf Digest calculations the odds of an amateur making a hole-in-one are 12,500 to 1. The odds of a low-handicapper making a hole-in-one: 5,000 to 1. And, the odds of a professional golfer making an ace are 2,500 to 1.

Cook broke the odds-on Hole #16 at the local Cedar View Golf Course in Massena NY. Cook used a hybrid club on the 130-yard par 3 hole for his first ever hole in one. The shot was witnessed by Dale White from Massena.
