Generations Park. Summer may be coming to a close, but August still promises to be a fun time with good food and great music every Thursday. On August 8th, Kati and the Biscuits performed for an excited crowd.

Kati and the Biscuits, led by singer Kathy Herne with her friends and bandmates, lead guitarist Eddie Lawrence, mandolin player Dianah Manley, drummer Barry Gordy and bassist Terry Terrance. For the past year or so they have been playing and performing together. Herne has been singing all her life; at church, playing for funerals on the organ and other different occasions. Recently she wanted to do something fun, something bouncy and something she could do with her family and friends.

"Music been a part of my life, my entire life – this time I wanted to do something with it. What makes the band so fun and bouncy is that each member takes turns singing a song if they wish. During the concert the drummer, Gordy would sing and then lead guitarist Lawrence would sing a song," Herne stated.

Herne said that this is a chance for them to show off their skills. As of right now, the band is mostly singing covers of Herne's favorite artists, but since Gordy is a songwriter, he is currently working on a couple of original songs for the band. Herne is more than happy to start recording these hoping to create a cover album or a debut album sometime next year.
