Last Saturday lacrosse teams from Tyendinaga, Cornwall, Markham, Ontario and Brampton, Ontario all came to Kawehnoke and got trounced out of the Anowarako:wa Arena.

The Akwesasne Storm Peewee 2 team hosted Tyendinaga in two games and won them both 11-3 and 13-5.

In between those games the Novice 2 team played Cornwall Celtics and won 8-1.

In the Storms first game Michael Dion and Landon Dupuis-David each scored four in the 11-3 romp.

Tharonhiokwas Elijah, Louie MacDonald and Zade Mitchell scored one apiece.

The Storm Novice 2 club got five goals from Kayden Thompson on the way to their 8-1 win. Four of those five goals came in a row. Rariontiiosta scored twice and Wade Francis picked up a single.

In the second meeting of the day with Tyendinaga Blazen Swamp scored three times, Dupuis-David, Wade Adams, Clayton Benedict and Dion replied with two each.

Zade Mitchell and Karter Lyons scored one each. Goaltender Jack Cook backstopped both wins.

Later that evening the Junior B Indians hosted the Mississauga Tomahawks and despite a strong first period where they actually led the game at one point, the Hawks' failed to report to work in the final two periods and lost 22-8.

The Indians jumped to a quick 2-0 lead to start this game, Teio Elijah and Keldren King scoring in the first two minutes. The teams traded one goal each – Russ Oakes scoring both – until Mississauga ended the period with three straight for a 5-4 lead.

But in the second period Akwesasne ran away with eight unanswered goals to end the middle frame 14-6.

The third period was just a formality as the Indians outscored the Tomahawks 8-2.

King and Kainen Francis scored five each as Nick Tremblay and Oakes netted hat tricks. Blaze White and Elijah scored two each and Kendrick Angus scored once.

Oakes and White had seven assists apiece.

Two days earlier the Nepean Knights came to the Island and went home with a 13-9 loss.

White, Francis and Karenrons MacDonald opened a 3-0 lead to start the game.

Nepean replied with two of their own while Angus scored once to end the first period 4-2. Nepean began the middle period with two before the Indians countered with three – White, Oakes and Tanner Tarbell. Nepean would score two in a row to trail by one, 7-6.

Francis of the Indians scored and that gave them an 8-6 lead to run out the period.

In the third, the Indians closed the door with a three goal run. White had scored a hat trick in that third period alone. Other third period goals came from Francis and Angus, and Gage King picked up the win in goal.

On Sunday, May 27 the Indians again put together a scoring run – this time eight – to beat the Brampton Excelsiors 16-8.

Again they gave up an early lead but took control of the game to cruise to the win.

Angus led the scoring with five, King notched four, Francis scored three times and with one were Tremblay, Oakes, Ryan Vipond and Tyler Armstrong.

Akwesasne had a slim 9-8 lead eight minutes into the second period when King's goal opened the floodgates. He also added a bit of hot-dogging to the goal as well.

Brampton backup goalie Mitchell Wagner misplayed a loose ball and got himself badly out of position. King scooped up the ball and waited for Wagner to make his move and when he did King tucked in their tenth goal.

Next game for the Indians is tonight (May 31) in Gloucester to meet the Griffins.
