Annual Salary: SP 05 - $52,039.31 – $54,120.89

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Under the supervision of the AMA Program Manager, the Emergency Medical Technician – Critical Care will perform duties associated with providing rescue services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, Mountain Lake Regional protocols and AMA policies. The EMT-CC will conduct patient assessment including but not limited to vitals such as Blood Pressure, Pulse Rate, Pulse Oximetry, lung sound auscultation, observe pupillary reaction, blood glucose monitoring, palpation of body areas, splinting, checking pulse, motor and sensory of extremities, inspection of injuries and the use of the Cincinnati Stroke scale. Initiating patient treatment and utilizing therapeutic techniques to manage life and threatening conditions affecting patient airway, breathing and circulation that are invasive and/or pharmacological in nature adhering to mountain lakes regional protocols for EMT-CC. The EMT-CC is also a mandated reporter.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or a GED as evidence of completion of a high school education.

• Current NYS EMT-CC certification.

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) or CEVO (Coaching Emergency Vehicle Operators) course completion.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Requires six (6) months experience in the field of rescue and emergency medical services.

• Must have five (5) years driving experience with a clean driver’s abstract.

• Shall obtain online status with Mountain Lake ESM Regional Council as a solo provider, in the event of being taken off-line the individual shall meet the requirements to regain online status. The individual shall immediately notify their supervisor of their change of status. Longest permissible time off-line is thirty (30) days.
