Happy 103rd Birthday to Freeman Lazore

Freeman Lazore and a grandson Carter E. Teharonhiokens King.

This is a story about an independent man who will soon turn and celebrate his 103rd birthday. Freeman "Jacob" Lazore was born on September 12, 1912. His mom passed away when he was only 12 years old and he then lived with his late sister Emma Lazore Cole until he turned 16. Freeman left the area to look for work and traveled toward the Albany area to work on farms and logging. After that, he came closer to home to work in Syracuse where he lived for 42 years. He moved back to the Racquette location where he has always called home and presently lives. He lives by himself and is very self sufficient, not ever needing anyone's help. He would never hesitate to tell anyone that either. Freeman has done very well for himself and enjoys telling stories of the past.

He enjoys knowing that his grandchildren (as he refers to them), live all around him. He can be seen still riding his three-wheel bicycle, which is parked in front of his steps. He enjoys making children laugh...or not. Freeman is the second youngest in his family. He comes from a big family; George, Angus, Albert, Hubert, Henry, Emma, Ida, Kawennohawe...most of them.

He is beginning to not feel well on some days, but keeps on going the only way he knows how. Happy Early Birthday to Uncle Freeman!
