Vankleek Hill Novice C Tournament Champs!

Congratulation to the Akwesasne Novice C Wolves on their stellar performance in the Vankleek Hill Novice C hockey tournament that took place on February 1st. The Wolves came home tournament champs. Their first game was played against the West Island Kings. The wolves skated away with a 15-0 win. Top scorers of the game where Shako Rice and Alexander Delormier. Royce Thomas and Zade Mitchell contributed a goal each. Player of the game went to Rhylin Oakes-Cook for his hard work hustling on the ice and battling for the puck in the corners.

The Wolves then took on WEHL Wolfpack and won the game 9-0. Louie Diabo had the shutout win between the pipes. Shako Rice, Alexander Delormier, Teharerons White, and Zade Mitchell had goals in that game. Player of the Game was awarded to Teharerons White for his hard work on the ice and determination in getting the puck in the net. This win allowed the team to advance to the gold medal game.


The gold medal game was played against the host team, the Vankleek Hill Cougars. This game was a battle right to the end. The fist two periods had the fans at the edge of their seats. It was tied, right up to the 6 minute 50 second mark of the second period. The Wolves battled hard with great defense, goaltending and all around teamwork. Shako Rice scored the third goal to give the Wolves the lead. The game ended with Akwesasne wining 5-2 over the host team. Shako Rice scored 3 goals; Alex Delormier 1 goal and Teharerons White had a goal. Shako Rice had an exceptional tournament earning him the Monster of the Tournament award for the most points. Alexander Delormier earned himself Player of The Game for his outstanding performance.
