SR boys basketball fall to OFA

Jordan Wood takes an outside shot for a basket against OFA

The Ogdensburg Blue Devils outscored Salmon River in each quarter on their way to an 88-44 win over the Shamrocks on Monday, January 5th at Salmon River. OFA took a 22-11 lead in the first quarter and continued on to improve their record to 4-0 in league play. However, the Salmon River boys did not give up and played hard to the end of the game. "I felt we battled well and our effort was there" said Shamrock Coach Shawn Martin. "OFA is solid and made us turn the ball over too easily during key points in the game. It is the smallest margin of victory in league play so far for them. We can play better".

Antoine Domino led a balanced scoring attack for the Shamrocks with 15 points, followed by Jordan Wood with 10. Russ Oakes and Ben Kelly dished out eight points apiece while Jordan Bigness netted four. Tyler Brooks and Brandon Burdash chipped in two points each. Kinnon LaRose led the Blue Devils with 43 points.

"As it stands now, we are right where I thought we should be in the league. After a rough first game at Potsdam, we are a different team since then" commented Coach Martin. "We are 3-2 in league play and haven't reached the mid way point of the season yet. There is still a lot of basketball to go and room for improvement".
