Wynne Hasn’t Forgotten
As her first public appearance after winning the election, Ontario’s premier-in-waiting Kathleen Wynne attended the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association conference in Toronto on Friday. Wynne was both Minister of Education and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and it seems that winning an election has not made her forget that.
Most notably, she began her speech recognizing the territory of the Mississaugas of New Credit, as well as reiterating her continued focus on raising the level of education for First Nations, Metis and Inuit. Peter Garrow was in attendance and said, “I was so impressed that she came to address us on Friday, what she said was significant. I think we have a true ally.”
