Iroquois Caucus Coordinator

 


The Iroquois Caucus is an independent organization comprised of elected Council representatives from 7 Iroquoian communities, who have a common identity and responsibilities.

The communities of Kahnawa:ke, Kahnesata:ke, Akwesasne, Tyendinaga, Wahta, Six Nations of the Grand River and Oneida of the Thames have come together to discuss common issues and concerns, come to be of one mind, and speak with one voice, in order to develop consensus based positions, formulate strategies and seek solutions beneficial to their communities.

The Iroquois Caucus seeks a qualified individual, to coordinate meetings and other activities on its behalf. This position is for 3 days per week. Travel is required.

Qualifications:

Organizational and planning skills

Facilitation and research skills

Written and oral communications

Able to work without supervision

Experience requirements:

Writing position papers, policy and press releases

Recording meeting minutes and decisions

Managing and reporting on budgets

Familiarity with First Nations organizations, Federal and Provincial governments

Remuneration:

The Coordinator will be expected to work 3 days per week for $600 per week.
