Salmon River Goes Hollywood at Prom 2012

SRCS Sr. Prom King- Shawn Avery and Queen- Zoe Thompson

Lights, Camera, Action…the stars came out on Saturday night May 12th to strut their stuff on the Red Carpet at the Salmon River Central Junior-Senior Prom. The theme for the night was a Hollywood inspired event called “Red Carpet Romance” and prom goers were dressed in fine fashion for this gala event.

The cafeteria was transformed into a classy and elegant setting fit for the Academy Awards. Decorations included tall 3-dimensional stars with lights, movie reels, and large stand-ups of picture taking paparazzi. The tables were covered with red and white tablecloths with film frames as runners. White vases with red roses and votives completed the table settings. Large letters that spelled out “Hollywood” were displayed in the cafeteria as well as outside on the hill visible through the windows of the cafeteria.

When the prom goers exited their Limos, Hummers, cars and trucks, a red carpet awaited to take them to the entrance of the building. Once inside another red carpet was walked upon into the threshold to their evening of glitz and glamour.

A photo station was located outside the cafeteria with Carol Barclay as the photographer. Music was provided by DJ Bernie Brown from Wheels of Steel.

At 10:30 P.M. the most anticipated part of the night arrived, the naming of prom king and queen. The court was as follows:
