The Foods That Cause Wrinkles and Aging of the Skin

What we eat and place inside our bodies determines how we look on the outside. Sugary processed foods and alcohol have been directly linked to a chemical reaction of the skin known as glycation. Glycation describes the process of how sugar molecules attach themselves to skin’s collagen fibers. This ultimately causes these fibers to “cross-link” and become stiff and inflexible. In essence a steady supply of processed high glycemic sugary food and alcohol leads to accelerated wrinkling, leathering and a loss of elasticity in the skin.

Processed and rancid omega 6 fats (like trans fat) also make the cell wall very inflexible. This can lead to the same accelerated aging effect plus an acceleration of disease, as any unnatural substance that gets assimilated into the cellular structure will always retard effective cellular communication on some level. In short, excess blood sugar and processed omega 6 fats (like canola, soy, safflower, sunflower, corn etc) will never produce well functioning human beings.

This sugar cross-linking effect also equally devastates the internal tissues of the body with accelerated hardening of the arteries and joint capsules. This hardening of the arteries is directly related to circulatory and cardiac irregularities (high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and high cholesterol). Hardening of the joint capsules leads to premature decreases in flexibility/mobility, accelerated mutations of proper posture and the related back, neck and hip pain syndromes that accompany faulty skeletal alignment

The same foods that cause the dreaded cross-linking of collagen proteins and this accelerated aging of the skin are also directly related to increased triglycerides, increased levels of LDL (bad cholesterol), decreased levels of HDL (good cholesterol), unstable blood sugar levels, emotional instability, decreased immunity, IQ impairment, chronic tissue infections, acne, ADHD, ADD, constipation, Crohn’s, colitis, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, type II diabetes, asthma, allergies, uncontrollable hunger cravings and a shortened life span all around.

For more information on how to avoid such foods you can pick up a copy of Dr. Mark Hyman’s book, “Ultra Metabolism” or Paul Chek’s, “How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy”.

A study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, titled “Skin Wrinkling; Can Food Make a Difference” reported that study participants who ate vegetables, legumes and monounsaturated fats such as olive oil and fish wrinkled less even if they lived in a sunny climate. By contrast people who gobbled cakes, pastries, soft drinks, pasteurized dairy products, margarine and non-organic red meats were more likely to develop wrinkles.

Remember that external aging is directly correlated to internal aging of the body. Processed sugary foods, processed food based fat and all alcohols are highly acidic and can severely damage every cell they come into contact with.

I would like to take this time to thank all readers for their support and congratulate them on their health improvement efforts. Many readers have made major health improvements (losing weight, getting off their toxic medications (with the help of their family doctors), protecting their children and families from the large forces of ill health etc) via the information within the books I often reference in my articles. Keep up the great work. You are looking good and you can’t look better unless you feel better.
