Mrs. Karen M. Buckshot, 45, of 336 Helena Road, Hogansburg, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday morning, August 23, 2009 at Massena Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 29, 1963 in Hershey, PA, the daughter of Rose Thom. She married Donald J. Buckshot on February 29, 2003 in Massena with Rev. Douglas Shear, officiating.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed planting flowers, watching sunsets, and her pet cats and dogs. She enjoyed listening to the rain hitting her trailer.

She is survived by her husband; her mother and stepfather, Rose and Charles Frye, Lake Worth, Florida; a sister, Jill Shepard, West Palm Beach, Florida, and her daughter, Jacqueline and grandson, Cameron; a brother, Mark Shepard and his daugthers, Brittany and Amanda, Melbourne, Florida; an aunt and uncle, Ronald and Lynn Bleisdell, Newark, NY; her best friend since childhood, Kim Henderson, West Palm Beach, Florida; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Phyllis Thom, an aunt, Mary Mander, and an uncle, Edward Hamilton.

Friends may call Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM with Rev. George H. Belgarde, SJ, officiating. Cremation will follow the services. The traditional memorial meal will be held following the services at the Buckshot Residence, 1166 River Road, Snye.
