REPORTS TO: Program Manager

STATUS: Part-time

SALARY: $15.05 hourly

DEADLINE: Open until filled

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within The Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club Prevention Unit. The philosophy of the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club is to create a safe and positive environment while providing educational and cultural programs geared to meet the needs of local (reservation and off-reservation) youth, focusing on self-responsibility, maturity, and growth.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Prepare Youth for Success

Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:

promote and stimulate program participation;

participate in new club member orientation process;

provide guidance and role modeling to members.

Program Development and Implementation

2. Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors. These programs deal specifically with drug & alcohol prevention and healthy decision making for youth.

3. Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Club at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports as requested.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

High School diploma or GED.

Experience in working with children.

Knowledge of youth development.

Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.

Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.

Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
