Grants to Support Arts Education for Jefferson, Lewis & St. Lawrence Counties

The St. Lawrence County Arts Council (SLC Arts) awards $100,000 in funding for local arts programming. Through the New York State Council on the Arts’ State Community Regrants Program, funding is available to support local projects throughout Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties.

The Arts Education Grant is one of three grant opportunities offered by SLC Arts. It supports arts education projects that focus on the exploration of art and the artistic process. There are two ways in which artists can choose to teach within their communities: (1) Partner with a local K-12 public school to engage local students or (2) Partner with a community-based organization (ie: library, boys & girls club, senior center) to provide artistic learning experiences to folks of all ages. The partnership is key to this funding opportunity.

The Arts Education application is open to individual artists, municipalities and 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, and may be completed by the individual artist or partner organization. The request amount is $300 - $5,000. Proposed projects must consist of a minimum of three, sequential, skill-building classes, with each class building upon what was learned in the preceding class.

Please visit slcartscouncil.org/grants to view applications and guidelines, register for a free info session, and submit an application. First-time applicants are REQUIRED to attend an info session prior to submitting an application, but all are encouraged to do so. Still have questions? The application deadline for all three grants is Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 4:00pm.
