Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

The Canadian Coast Guard indicated that icebreaking activity will take place in our immediate area on morning of Friday, March 18th. Please stay off the ice, as icebreaking will dislodge pack ice and pose a real danger to anyone on the river. Now is a very dangerous time due to warmer temperatures and the potential for ice movement – not only for your personal safety, but for our First Responders who risk their own safety to rescue stranded snowmobilers, motorists, and others who do not adhere to advance warnings. No ice is safe ice!
