Thursday, January 6th Tribal EOC & MCA CHP Report a Total of 86 Active Cases

 


AKWESASNE. The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported ten new positive cases yesterday, for a total of 64 active cases. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Community Health Program reports one new positive case of COVID-19 in the northern portion of the community, as of January 6, 2022, for a total of 22 active cases.

OnThursday, January 6, 2022, Akwesasne had a total of 86 active cases.

The SRMT EOC is pleased that 24 community members have been released from isolation and there are no hospitalizations.

MCA Department of Health (DOH) states they, “Would like to remind the community that we need your assistance to slow/stop the spread of COVID-19 by strictly adhering to the public health measures that have been put in place. Please no social gatherings (stay within your own household) and wear a mask when around others. Wash and sanitize hands frequently and maintain six feet of distance from anyone outside your household.”

SRMT EOC stated, “Individuals are asked to remain vigilant and follow all safety measures being recommended to help control community spread of the virus.”
