BEVERLY A. THOMPSON

 

AKWESASNE- Beverly A. Thompson, 75, formerly of John Thompson Road, Kawehnoke, peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, December 8, 2021 at the Tsiionkwanonhso:te, Home for the Elderly on Cornwall Island.

Beverly was born on December 26, 1945 in Malone, NY, daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Tarbell) White and was a graduate of the Salmon River High School.

In her early life, Beverly was employed at Kodak and General Motors as well as various other manufacturing facilities in Rochester NY and Boston, MA. She later worked as a health care support worker at Iakhihsohtha Home for the Elderly in Snye, QC. Once married to her former spouse, Ernie Thompson, Beverly's greatest and most cherished role became that of a homemaker and mother.

Beverly loved to read mysteries and anything that challenged her mind and inspired her gifted imagination.  She was a trivia champion and loved watching Jeopardy but also Columbo and Matlock.  She enjoyed playing Radio Bingo and taking trips to the Casino.  Other than her children, Beverly most loved being by the water and was especially fond of the ocean. She was a favorite "Aunt" to so many and was famous for loading up her car with kids for surprise picnic trips to Meacham Lake and other adventures. She cherished her time with her family and all animals, especially the wild ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine White Doran (Dan) of Akwesasne and Wilton, CT; and two sons Evan Thompson of St. Regis Road; and Jess Thompson of Kawehnoke; five grandchildren, Aidan, Danny, Avery, Bleyton and Tionatathe; and two siblings Gertrude (Trudy) Sunday and David White, both of Akwesasne; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Besides her parents Thomas and Sarah, Beverly was also predeceased by her siblings Katherine Dutton, Thomas White, Charles White and Martha LaFrance; as well as beloved nephews and a niece, Danny, Curtis, Howard, Lee and Heather.

Friends called at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, on Saturday, 1- 4 pm; where funeral services were held at 4:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be made in Beverly's memory to Tsiionkwanonhso:te/Home for the Elderly - Akwesasne and Iakhihsohtha/Home for the Elderly - Akwesasne.
