Akwesasne Mohawk Police Seize Drugs, Guns and Cash

 


A Cornwall Island resident is facing 14 charges after police conducted a search warrant execution on Friday, December 3, 2021. The search, which was executed at approximately 6 p.m. at a Kawehno:ke home, was the conclusion of a drug trafficking investigation led by the Joint Investigation Team of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police.

Officers seized an array of items during the search, including five guns, ammunition, individual packages of cocaine and over $5000 in currency.

Louis R. Buckshot, 43 of Akwesasne, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of currency obtained by crime exceeding $5000, 11 counts of firearms offences and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling contrary to the Cannabis Act.
