Qualifications:

• Fluent Mohawk speaker or Functional level Mohawk speaker

• Must have 1-2 yrs. experience working with school aged children

• Experience maintaining an immersion environment

• Ability to teach outside of classroom; in the woods, at the river, in the garden, etc.

• Ability to recite the “Ohenton Karihwatehkwen”, sing traditional songs and dances, etc.

• Creative, resourceful and ability to work without supervision

• Must have a positive attitude and be flexible, dependable, and punctual

Duties:

• To interact with children using Kanieńkehá throughout the day.

• To role model everyday activities and provide opportunities for the children to help and participate

• To supervise children outside at all times.

• Establish a trusting relationship with children, co-workers and parents

• Establish daily routines and classroom management

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment at all times

• To comply with current AFS policies and procedures.
